“Look again at that dot. That’s here. That’s home. That’s us.”
– Carl Sagan
The Pale Blue Dot is the famous image of Earth captured by NASA’s Voyager 1 in 1990 from roughly 6 billion kilometres away. In the photograph, Earth appears as little more than a tiny point of light suspended in space.
Carl Sagan used the image to reflect on how small our world is — and how everything humanity has built, discovered and connected exists on that distant dot.
Distance changes perspective. Infrastructure makes distance disappear.
Look closer. Everything is connected.
